Metallurgy

Casting

NEP's wholly owned foundries are green certified and recognized for unparalleled dimensional stability and surface finish quality across the industries' most challenging product designs.

NEP is the world leader in steel and manganese castings production for class 8 trucks and construction equipment and related Tier 1 industries. NEP foundries are chemical and emissions free and employ robotic automation and digital x-ray technology. Our foundries are audited and certified to the highest standards for performance critical applications.

Forging

NEP forge is a critical piece of NEP's fully integrated manufacturing capability.

Consisting of automated forge presses, in-line heat treatment including induction hardening, and metallurgical and mechanical quality validation, NEP forge is known for rapid part development and qualification. Our integrated campus structure ensures parts are fully machined, welded, assembled, and coated—all within one production and quality system.

Heat Treatment

Across NEP campuses, heat treatment processes are integrated into our operations.

This ensures complete process control and outcomes for critical application products. These processes are supported by expert process engineers and metallurgists. Material challenges related to application performance criteria and manufacturability are solved with close customer collaboration and NEP's integrated manufacturing system.

Machining

NEP Machinery and its related campuses specialize in translating the castings and forgings of our upstream operations into highly engineered solutions for our customers.

In three locations and with over one hundred primary and secondary machining centers and embedded CMM inspection laboratories, NEP seamlessly manages the transition of castings and forgings into finished products, all within one organizational planning and quality system.

Welding & Assembly

NEP is certified and approved to the industries' highest standards for welding.

Employing both certified manual as well as robotic welding centers, NEP incorporates steel castings and forgings in complex fabricated assemblies, ready for installation. The integration of multiple components within one operating system reduces quality variances, streamlines supply chain costs, and eliminates downstream inventories in customer plants.

Distribution

NEP's global logistics and planning organizations oversee a highly coordinated system based on production to forecast modeling, diversified supply lanes, and agreed inventory management structures.
